Induction- Valladolid Rotaract

Last weekend, Rotary District 2201 had it's annual district meeting in Valladolid and the Valladolid Rotary Club decided that it would be the best time to have the official induction ceremony of the new Valladolid Rotaract Club!! (For those of you who are not familiar with Rotaract, it is basically Rotary, but for people aged 18-30. It's name comes from Rotary in Action). Both my fiance, Brendan, and I have become members of the club!!

The Valladolid Rotary Club was very excited about the creation of the new Rotaract Club and they wanted to do something special for us that day, which it really was. The lunch was delicious (modern tapas style with great wine!) Also, a few members from the two Rotaract Clubs in Madrid came to ceremony as well, and afterwards we went to "el Hotel Imperial" where we have our Rotaract meetings for some drinks.

It is sad because we only have 3 months left of our stay here in Spain. The two of us plan on participating as much as we can until then though :) Although I am only able to attend weekend activities every once and a while, since Brendan lives in Valladolid, he is able to attend the meetings during the week.

Take a look as some of the pictures below of the day of our induction ceremony:

The place where we had the luncheon-- beautiful!
A mixture of Rotaracters from Madrid and Valladolid.
More Madrid and Valladolid Rotaract members
Yay! We're an official club now!! :)
